  • Présentation des objectifs et contours de ce numéro spécial

Understanding the geological processes underlying the formation of critical and strategic metals deposits is essential to improve exploration strategies and assessing the metallogenic potential of various geological domains. This requires a comprehensive, multi-scale approach, from detailed small-scale characterisation of ore-shoots and deposits to the very large scale at lithospheric level to highlight the critical constituents of mineral systems. This necessarily involves multidisciplinary scientific approaches, integrating advanced mineralogical, petrological, geochemical including isotopic and geochronological techniques, alongside spatial analysis, structural geology, tectonics, sedimentology, geophysics and analogue or digital experimental works...

We invite the scientific community to share their recent research works in this special volume in tribute to Eric Gloaguen, a highly esteemed French “metallogenist” who was used to apply this holistic philosophy on his daily work.

The expected contributions will present new findings that contribute to a better understanding of metallogenetic processes, especially linked to magmatism and fluid circulation in an orogenic context (orthomagmatic mineralisation associated with intrusions, magmatic-hydrothermal and hydrothermal mineralisation). The presentation of works based on Interdisciplinarity and changes of scale is strongly encouraged.
